Meet YIELD: Kelsey Heinze
What do you do at YIELD?:
I’m the photographer at Yield. I shoot the products for the website, catalog and social media. From time to time I’ll help with production in the studio as well.
How did you get started in your work?
In middle school everyone had a Canon Powershot camera to take selfies with. Of course I followed trend and got one myself. That brought myself to realize that I actually liked photography (not just for selfies) which led me to apply to art schools in high school (and to buy a more serious camera). I went to Savannah College of Art and Design.
Where are you from?
I am from Shelter Island, New York. A small island in-between the two forks of Long Island. You have to take a ferry to get there.
What's your favorite cocktail?
Mmmm, probably Blood and Sand. The Ice Plant here in town makes a mean one.
What's your favorite type of product to work with?
I like to photograph the bags. They are so pretty and well designed. Great models.
Eating a whole bag of chips in one sitting…
